Vegas Valley Book Festival 2012

Hurricane Sandy got you wet? Come to Sin City this week to the largest annual literary event in Las Vegas! Now in its eleventh year, the Vegas Valley Book Festival is a celebration of the written, spoken, and illustrated word. Held November 1-3, 2012 at the Historic Fifth Street School, a stone’s throw from Fremont Street, Jennifer Egan, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of A Visit from the Goon Squad, will headline the event.

Most events are free and open to the public. If you’re feeling noirish, make sure to attend The Truth About Crime: Is Fact Stranger Than Fiction?, a true crime panel with Chris Baughman, Miles Corwin, Cathy Scott, Gregg Hurwitz and Cindi Reed.

The Vegas Valley Book Festival is produced by the city of Las Vegas; Las Vegas-Clark County Library District; UNLV’s Black Mountain Institute; American Institute of Graphic Artists, Las Vegas chapter; Las Vegas Review-Journal; and Nevada Humanities, a festival founder.
